Chanel Was out of This World

It wouldn’t be fashion week if Karl Lagerfeld didn’t blow everyone out of the water with the Chanel show. Knowing that the French house has worldwide appeal, he decided to take things up a notch, building the first fashion spaceship. I am not exaggerating: there was a life-sized rocket that actually left the ground.

Karl is a genius and you never know what his next vision might possibly be until the show begins. This collection appeared to reflect the desire we all have to be anywhere else. With the current state of affairs, I believe that many of us would not hesitate to board the Chanel space shuttle. There were Chanel staples: two piece skirt suits, lots of tweed, and an overall sophisticated vibe. Yet closer to the end of the show, it seemed that Karl was playing with the idea of what the future has in store for the Chanel girl. The models were adorned in head-to-toe glitter. There is no doubt that it’s only a matter of time until Chanel’s influence becomes interstellar.
